Mayfair Businesses Honored by City Council

Mayfair Neighbors was honored to attend the June 15, 2026 Denver City Council meeting where a proclamation recognized thirteen businesses within our neighborhood, the Colfax Mayfair Business Improvement District, for their longstanding contributions to our community.

Sponsored by Councilmembers Amanda Sawyer and Darrell Watson, Proclamation 26-0834 celebrates the remarkable histories and lasting impact of these businesses. Collectively, they represent decades, for one - a century, of dedication, service, and community building, with individual businesses serving residents and customers for anywhere from 30 to 115 years.

The recognition highlights more than longevity. These businesses help shape the character of our neighborhood, support local economic vitality, create gathering places, and build relationships that strengthen the fabric of our community. Their commitment through changing times, including the East Colfax BRT Project, reflects the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit that continue to make our district a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

Our organization was proud to be present in support of this recognition and to join in celebrating the businesses whose contributions have left a lasting mark on the neighborhood. The proclamation served as a meaningful reminder that local businesses are more than storefronts—they are community partners, employers, neighbors, and stewards of Mayfair and Denver's history and future.
